Rosa Faenskap – Ingenting Forblir
Fysisk Format Records
Released 6 Mar 26

Ingenting Forblir (Norwegian for Nothing Lasts) is the 2nd album buy post black metal/hardcore trio Rosa Faenskap. It is an intriguing combination, who blends black metal with hardcore after all?
The best thing about this unholy alliance is that it actually works. The 7 track album opens with ‘Den Svake Mannen’ and after a gentle start the track absolutely batters along. The guitars get slightly lost in the maelstrom, but the attack and venom on display should lead the unwary listener to what they should expect.
The hardcore element becomes apparent in the 2nd song, ‘Faenskap for Alltid’ features gang-vocals for the first time, I was reminded of old-school Biohazard, with the rhythmic nature of the riffs as the drums hold the
entire track together. In truth, across the 38 minute run-time, the hardcore elements of Ingenting Forblir outshine the almost, but not quite, black metal feel.
Production wise, the album is a million miles away from anything a black metal purist would accept. It is a meaty production, it strives you impress you and in the most part does. It is crisp, but allows the innate aggression of Rosa Faenskap to breathe. The false intros to ‘Klarhet i Kaos’ leads to chaotic riffs interspersed with an almost jazz-like vibe, and the production handles it with ease.
The album’s outlook is described as being nihilistic, yet optimistic, a juxtaposition to be sure. Nothing lasts, for sure, yet we can only hope that our enjoyment for a very intriguing 2nd effort from Rosa Faenskap will endure.
